Office Manager

Janice has been involved with the construction industry since 1986.  Her current position is as Office Manager for D.L. Smith Electric.  Janice is responsible for several office management tasks such as:
•    Manages Accounts Payables and Receivables
•    Manages material and labor job cost information
•    Coordinates payroll functions within company
•    Manages benefit payments, taxes, and associated reporting
•    Maintains employee records
•    Manages general ledger of accounts

Robert Mai

Project Manager

Bob has been in the electrical construction industry since 1972. His current position is Project Manager/Estimator for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for project management tasks such as:
•    Serves as primary contact for company on project
•    Reviews and manages overall project performance
•    Provides timely responses to GC and owner with issues/changes
•    Provides scheduling for entire project for others to work within
•    Determines equipment buyouts and major purchases on project

Don Mize

Purchasing Agent

Don has been in the electrical industry since 1974. His current position is as Purchasing Agent for D.L. Smith Electric.  He is responsible for material and tool management tasks such as:
•    Project material purchasing and cost controls
•    Coordinates equipment purchasing with suppliers and project scheduling
•    Manages tool tracking system
•    Provides updated material pricing for current and future projects
•    Manages inventory stock levels and material staging for current project
•    Creates and manages special purchasing agreements with manufacturers

 



John Robben

Commercial Sales/Estimator

John has been in the electrical industry since 1990.  His current position is a Project Estimator.  He is responsible for project estimating tasks such as:

•    Reviews and analyzes potential projects for opportunities
•    Maintains updated lists of potential projects to pursue
•    Provides accurate cost estimates for proposal
•    Provides coordinated project start-up transitions to field
•    Maintains accurate costs for commodities
•    Developes consistent methods of estimating within company

Shawn P. Smith, P.E.

President/Electrical Engineer

Shawn has been in the electrical construction industry since 1988.  He is the president and electrical engineer of DL Smith Electric.  He is responsible for day-to-day operations of the company, including many project tasks such as:

•    Develops contacts and opportunities throughout market
•    Provides engineering support for design/build projects
•    Provides negotiated project budgeting and design assistance
•    Provides code review for project specific tasks within company
•    Provides project management for key clients and special projects

Shawn Smith


Bret Toelkes

Company Superintendent

Bret has been in electrical construction industry since 1977. His current position is Company Superintendent for D.L. Smith Electric.  He is responsible for construction project coordination tasks such as:
•    Provides manpower management and labor cost controls
•    Provides resource leveling between various projects
•    Coordinates with GC’s and electrical work to maintain scheduling
•    Works with project managers to analyze overall job performance
•    Provides assistance on critical tasks within each project
•    Serves as liaison between field crews and office on company policies and procedures
•    Serves as Safety Director for our company

Doug Tucker

Service Department Manager

Doug has been in the electrical construction industry since 1970. His current position is Service Department Manager for D.L. Smith Electric. He is responsible for many critical steps within our service department such as:
•    Coordinates 24 hour service/emergency work
•    Prepares estimates for service and small projects customers
•    Provides planning and scheduling for service orders
•    Coordinates materials and tools with planned work
•    Maintains service vehicle fleet
•    Manages service technicians and workforce training
•    Provides assistance to clients on budgeting for future projects
•    Provides expertise on best methods for installation and/or repair

Marc Thompson

Service Department Specialist

Marc has been in the electrical construction industry since 1977. His current position is Service Department Specialist for D.L. Smith Electric. Marc has been a licensed Master Electrician since 1993. He is responsible for many critical steps within our service department such as:
•    Provides day-to-day coordination of projects and manpower
•    Prepares estimates for small projects and residential and commercial service work
•    Coordinates 24 hour service/emergency work
•    Provides 30 years of field experience and expertise in service and troubleshooting

Estimator

Jason has been in the electrical industry since 2000. His current position is an Electrical Estimator. He is responsible for estimating electrical projects and tasks such as:

•    Reviews and analyzes potential projects for opportunities
•    Maintains updated lists of potential projects to pursue
•    Provides accurate cost estimates for proposal
•    Maintains accurate costs for commodities
